A decision should be explainable

When we take eligible action, the notice identifies what changed, the rule involved and how to appeal. Some urgent, automated or legally confidential situations may limit the detail we can provide.

What can be appealed

  • Content removals and certain warning labels or recommendation restrictions.
  • Feature limits, account suspensions and bans.
  • Monetization or advertising eligibility decisions.
  • Some copyright, impersonation and verification outcomes through their specialist process.

How review works

Submit the appeal from the enforcement notice and explain relevant context. A reviewer considers the content, policy, context, account history and any new information. High-severity or complex matters may receive specialist review.

Outcomes

  • Decision upheld.
  • Decision reversed and access or content restored where possible.
  • Decision changed to a different, proportionate action.
  • More information requested before a final outcome.

No retaliation

Using the appeal process in good faith does not count against an account. Repeated duplicate, abusive or fraudulent submissions may be consolidated or closed.
